UU at the Movies (Popcorn Theology) is a fun and engaging multigenerational program built around popular movies that have spiritual or ethical relevance. We watch the movie together, and then after the movie we engage in discussion around the movie’s themes and how they relate to our UU faith.
Movies start at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall with discussion immediately following the movie. We provide freshly popped popcorn and a variety of drinks. We’ll have folding chairs available for seating, but you can also bring your favorite lawn chair or other comfy seats. Feel free to bring dinner or any other snacks or food.

Are there times you wish you could have a deeper discussion about the important questions in your life? Do you wonder if your thoughts about philosophical matters are shared by your friends and loved ones? Have you found that sometimes your concerns about existential issues become clearer when you hear how others deal with them?
We too think about those questions and are ready to engage deeply with members of our congregational family and friends. We believe these discussions will be appropriate for high schoolers and adults.
We’ll provide a structure for an open-minded and open-hearted conversation. We won’t be debating, or challenging, or proselytizing. There will be no right or wrong answers or ideas. We’ll simply share our experience, curiosity, compassion, and respect.
Come and bring your friends and family for a community game night. We have plenty of space for board and card games, pizza, drinks, and snacks. Participants are welcome to bring in outside food if needed or preferred. Bring along your favorite games, or be adventurous and learn something new. We have various games that will occupy all interests, ages, and skill levels for hours. Staff will be onsite ready to help teach games throughout the evening.
