Let Freedom Ring

July 6th, 2025 at 10:15 am with Rev. Beth Monhollen

African-American civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer once famously said, "Nobody's free until everybody's free," a sentiment echoed by UU minister Sean Parker Dennison who wrote, "Freedom that cannot perceive that others must also be free is not freedom at all, but entitlement ... the libertine imposter of liberty.” Our UU faith calls us to live and embody our interdependence, to honor the dignity of all life by joining together to work for collective freedom. While attacks on human rights are on the rise in our own country and around the world, this work is not just socio-political work, it is spiritual work. Join us this Sunday to sing and reflect and imagine how we make freedom ring real and true in our lives.
