We realize that planning a memorial service is a very important part of honoring your loved one. Our sanctuary provides a welcoming space for your ceremony. Our Facilities Manager is available for assistance in helping you plan your tribute.
Ministers
Our ministers are generally available for member services, and can be available for non-member services for a separate fee negotiated with the minister. In addition, we can provide you with contact information for other experienced ministers who you may contact. You are also welcome to have your own minister conduct a memorial service.
Accompanist and A/V Support
UUCUC offers accompanist and A/V support for memorial services. Please note, these services are dependent on the availability of the UUCUC Accompanist and A/V Tech. Fees for these services are provided upon request. You are welcome to have your own accompanist at your service with prior approval.
We also have a sound system available if you have pre-recorded selections that you would like to use.
The Rose Window
The stained glass rose window is the heart of our Sanctuary, and has removable centerpieces that can be inserted and associated with the theme of your memorial service. The Tree of Life is a popular centerpiece for memorial services. In addition, we offer a selection of banners related to various faiths that can be displayed on the Sanctuary walls.
Memorial Service Rental Rates and Policies
- The rental fees below reflect a 4-hour time frame. Additional time may be negotiated with the Facilities Manager.
- Meeting with, and access, to Facilities Manager for planning and onsite presence for setup, ceremony and cleanup.
- Fees for Minister are to be negotiated separately.
- Fees for Accompanist and A/V Tech are provided upon request.
- Fees cover basic clean up. All decorations are required to be removed by renter at the conclusion of the event. Please be sure that this is delegated to someone prior to your event and that the Facilities Manager is made aware of who will be taking care of removing decorations.

Additional Notes
- Meetings with Minister are to be scheduled by separate arrangement.
- You are welcome to use an outside officiant for your memorial with prior approval from UUCUC ministers.
- You are welcome to use outside accompanists and A/V services for your service with prior approval of the Facilities Manager.
- Must be a member in good standing a minimum of 6 months prior to scheduling an event in order for member fees to apply.
- If there is a private event where there is no staff present, masks are optional when the community transmission level in Champaign County for COVID-19 is at medium or low according to the Champaign County Public Health Dept. If staff is present, and the transmission level is high, all visitors are required to wear masks.
- Please refer to the UUCUC Manual for Building Use and Rental Policies for additional information regarding fees and security deposits.

Meet Our Ministers
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Urbana-Champaign (UUCUC) is led by Lead Minister, Reverend Beth Monhollen, and an Associate Minister for Congregational Life, Reverend Sally Fritsche. Both Rev. Beth and Rev. Sally are available for pastoral care appointments.
