Adult Show and Tell on Summer Sunday's

7/13/2025 Contact Kelly Skinner

There are no set RE classes over the summer. However, childcare is available in the nursery for children aged 0-5 years old.

We do have Adult Show & Tell, special all-ages experiences, planned for young people age 5+ and their adult friends during worship on the following Sundays:

JUNE 22 - EXPLORING INSECTS WITH SAM BESHERS

Sam works in the Entomology department at the University of Illinois. He'll share about insects, their habitat, fascinating facts, and connections to the interconnected web of life. Participants will get to observe real insects, ask questions, and share ideas.

JULY 13 - CARDBOARD LOOM WEAVING WITH KIRI FAGEN-ULMSCHNEIDER

Kiri is a weaver who makes beautiful fabric arts. She will bring cardboard looms and demonstrate how to use yard scraps to create a fun and easy woven piece.

JULY 20 - SUN PRINTING WITH CHRISTINE CAHILL

Christine will show you how to make prints with the art of cyanotype, a photographic process that uses sunlight to create images on special paper. You’ll use found things or objects from nature to create your unique paper print to take home.

JULY 27 - MAKER SPACE WITH ANGELA URBAN

Angela will have a variety of materials and supplies for you to engage with the worship topic in a hands-on, innovative, and creative way. Let your inner voice speak aloud through doing and creating together.

AUGUST 10 - BACKPACK BLESSING & BUILD IT WITH CARDBOARD

Immediately after the service to kick off the school year, gather on the lawn for a fun-filled adventure to build and create anything you can imagine with cardboard boxes, packing tape, and markers.

AUGUST 17 - FAMILY WELCOME & PARENT MEETING

We hope to see you at some of these fun summer Sundays!

PS - Volunteers are an important part of making faith development happen for all ages at this congregation. There are many ways to be involved at all levels of time and commitment. Consider sharing your time and talent to support the Faith Development program somehow!
