M. Miguel Rowland, or M.R., began serving as the choir director while they were pursuing their PhD in Music Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2022. They create a rehearsal environment where all musicians are respected for what they bring to the ensemble and help to develop a unified sound that matches the repertoire selections for Sunday services. They currently teach at Robeson Elementary School as the music teacher for grades K-5. If you are interested in singing with the UU choir, please email them at director-choir@uucuc.org
