Promise and Repair

The Jewish high holiday of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins at sundown today. And no matter our religious traditions, this holy day invites us all to embrace the idea that we can turn away (repent) from actions that cause harm and move towards atonement, towards healing and repair, in our relationships and our communities. Repentance and atonement are less about forgiveness and more about beginning new patterns, so that our future actions are in alignment with our UU values of justice and love. Rev. Beth leads the service and our Sunday morning Faith Development classes for kids begin today, with the nursery available for little ones 4 and under.
