Original Blessing

We often avoid talking about sin and evil in contemporary Unitarian Universalism, but this leaves us ill-equipped to address the many harms of our world. Even as we proclaim the Universalist tenet that we are born inherently loved and blessed, we can recongize that humanity's choices take us far from that orignial blessing. If we frame "sin" not as something we are born with,  but rather as choices to disconnect from the truth of our interdependence, we can more readily name sin and repair ourselves and our communities.
